((( He is a good Shepherd )))
A shepherd is someone guide and direct in a particular direction, A shepherd’s primary responsibility is the safety and welfare of the flock. Wherever the disciples were in a journey without Christ, unforseen danger and harm befell them, remember when they allowed their Shepherd to sleep, hurricane attacked the boat they were in. Never allow Christ not to have a say in your life, you can shut people's mouth with what concerns you but never exclude God's Word with what concerns your life.
If we have a good Shepherd that means there is a bad Shepherd. Then I ask myself who was guiding humanity two thousand years B.C, it was evident that Israel was given Moses and the Law to guide them. Painful thing was that thier Shepherd didn't have mercy, once you go contrary to his will you were stoned with two or three witnesses to confirm your sin, people of Israel lived under guilt and fear all their days guided by Law. The bad Shepherd got an opportunity through the Law to kill, steal and destroy!
Then were does it put us Africans and gentiles in relation to Israel? Well we constructed our African perspectives, which it turned us to be an idolatrous nation, whereby we worshiped the creation instead of the Creator! Then we became confused and frustrated and abandoned by God, we claimed to be wise but we did shameful things.
We are not claiming that there is a nation that is good in the world, because there was nothing good before Christ came. Jesus Christ became good for us, He took our bad side and gave us His good side. So anyone who is in Christ must see himself as Christ is, because our bad side is gone and good has come.
We are not good because of certain rules we keep, we are no not good because we attend a certain church, our goodness and righteousness is not found in things we do for God but in what God did for us through Christ!
He is a good Shepherd, there is no sense of oppression in Him, there is no sense of decrimination, He is a good Shepherd.
[“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd sacrifices his life for the sheep.]
(John 10:11)
