No one could God bring us to apart from Him. He once did it to the Israelites when He gave them Canaan, little did they knew that God wasn't bringing the to Canaan but to Himself. It is in Himself where life dwells, where peace is found. We were reckless with the life He has given us! We lived it with ways that seemed good to us, not knowing that every road that is according to our will leads to death. However, God decided not to give us Canaan in these end times but He gave us His Son. For the meeting place between God and man is in Jesus Christ. After coming back from exile and being prodigal we need to fetch others through the mercy and grace we were brought back with.
[ And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. ]
